There will be lots of changes going on at Spring Meadow Station. Our son and daughter left the state to go to college but they always came home to work at the family business in the summer months. They both began to work in the area of their degrees. Our son found a job that he loved but out daughter was missing being outdoors, working with annuals and perennials, and fresh local produce. She missed being in the community. At this time you will most likely see the farmer’s daughter working along Farmer Stan at the market these days! She is following in her father’s footsteps.
I have always had the love of farming in my heart. I started out at 13 working on a farm picking beans and knew that's where I was meant to be. Kelly and I opened Spring Meadow Farms LLC in 1986 with our family and sold it in 2011 to semi retire. Well that didn't last too long, a dear friend purchased the farm in 2014 and asked if we would like to be a part of it. He missed the community hangout and we missed the community. We have taken on the sales of plants and produce, I feel that's the part I do best! We are now Farmer Stan's Plants & Produce at Spring Meadow Station.
A stalk of corn waiting for harvest started as a seed; our community's the same. We're planting the seed of brighter tomorrows today. Farmer Stan's Plants & Produce gives local farmers a place to come together and celebrate their good, hard, honest work. Come out and help us grow.
